see this is closing the achievement gap. it is closing the achievement gap because these grooms have made more gains than the district average. so if we go back to 2006-2007, you will see that the district made a 1.7% improvement, but the targeted groups, only 1.4% and 1.1%. similarly in 2007-2008, it was 1.3% improvement for the district, and the targeted groups only .6% and .7%. and it is only in the last two years where we have match the district average or exceeded it with the targeted groups. so again, for two consecutive years we have matched or exceeded the district average for our targeted groups. you see the same trend in math. in math it is even more distinct where it is exceeding in the last two years. so in the last two years you will see that the district average has been 2.8% and 3%. but the african-american and latino gains have been much higher than that kind of improvement. we have had significant gains for those groups in math, and we call that closing the achievement gap, again for the second year in a row. other news which was significance to share was the samoan

two leaders of north korea has ever known. kim jong-il had a very long and public grooming for power, seen as the only possible successor for his godlike father. the leadership cold could easily pass at you another generation -- cult could easily pass to another generation. the talk is once again of succession, but this time it needs to be organized in more haste. and with the added problem, many suggest, that none of his three known as suns appear to be promising leaders. the first, kim jong nam, was at once caught trying to enter japan with a false passport, trying to visit tokyo's disneyland. the second son, kim jong chul, is reportedly considered too thin and then by his father. that leaves the third son, perhaps soon to be in charge of a fledgling nuclear power. political successions in totalitarian states are always fraught with difficulty, and kim jong-un is a complete political novice. he may be his father's chosen successor, but the other power elites in north korea might be a different matter. bbc news, seoul. >> the head of the vatican bank is under investigation for

look at our grooming program and volunteer program and many say, hey, this >> good afternoon. thank you for joining us. today is a major milestone in our sf park program. it is a new system of managing parking in the city and county of san francisco. the mta was fortunate enough to receive a $25 million partnership grant to look at ways to help with congestion in urban cities and find a way to do with pricing. rather than looking at toll booths and things of that nature, we thought it would be a more elegant solution to look at where the cars are going better actually trying to park. by making parking easier and getting better data, we believe we will have a strategy that will reduce congestion on city streets. over 30% of the contestant dickcongest -- congestion is related to automobiles looking for parking. we want to provide better data in terms of the sensors on the street. they will have a real time information needed for 511, through the website, or through their smart phones to receive information as to where parking is available in the city. the parking will be made available be
